Course Objective and Content

This course covers logistical processes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central from a user’s perspective. The lessons in this practical course include the functionalities available in the standard version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. The course covers the following application functions: receipts, put-aways, transfers, picks, shipments, and item tracking in the warehouse, as well as the processes that take place in the warehouse as part of assembly and production. It addresses locations without bins, locations with fixed bins, and a directed warehouse management system.

The following topics are covered:

• Setting up a company that will be managed with logistics processes (location without bins, with fixed bins, with directed warehouse management)
• Warehouse put-aways and warehouse picks (if a one-step process is to be used in logistics)
• Receiving and putting away items
• Setting up and using cross-docking to bring items directly to the shipping zone
• Performing internal logistics operations, including transfers, internal picks, and internal put-away requests
• Using warehouse journals to adjust or transfer item inventory in a directed warehouse
• Setting up and using physical inventory
• Picking and shipping items
• Shipping cross-docked items
• Using the breakbulk functionality to split items stored in larger units
• Setting up and using item tracking in different logistical scenarios

Course Participants

This course is aimed at employees of Microsoft Dynamics partners who sell, implement, or provide support for the warehouse management system based on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This target audience includes individuals responsible for assessing customer business requirements and helping them use, configure, or customize the application. Additionally, those responsible for training or supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will also benefit from this course.

Prerequisites

A mandatory prerequisite is that the participant has completed the following foundation courses

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – Essentials
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – SCM (Part 1: Essentials)
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – SCM (Part 2: Advanced)

or possesses equivalent knowledge in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
