Course Objective and Content

This course is part of the basic training for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

In this course, participants will be taught fundamental knowledge about the purchasing, sales, and warehouse modules. Through practical examples, they will learn how to solve various tasks.

The course covers the essential activities required for purchasing, sales, and warehousing of items. Participants will gain an overview of module setup, required master data, and processes.

The course covers the following topics:

• Basic setup for warehouse, sales, and purchasing
• Creating and maintaining master data (items, customers, vendors)
• Document-driven purchasing process (quotation, order, receivement, invoice, returns, credit memo, payment), including corrections/cancellations
• Document-driven sales process (quote, order, shipment, invoice, returns, credit memo, payment), including corrections/cancellations
• Creating consolidated invoices
• Prices and discounts in purchasing
• Prices and discounts in sales, including price worksheets
• Setting up and using multiple warehouse locations within a company
• Setting up and using transfers to move item quantities between locations
• Monitoring item availability
• Processing item surcharges/discounts in purchasing and sales
• Using customer service features such as substitute items, item cross-references, and catalog items
• Cross-processes like drop shipments and special orders

This course combines brief theoretical sections using PowerPoint presentations with extensive live demonstrations of system application scenarios. In addition, ample time is provided for questions and discussions, and participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in SCM through practical exercises.

Prerequisites

A mandatory prerequisite is that participants have completed the course “Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – Essentials” or have equivalent knowledge in Dynamics 365 Business Central.
