In this course, participants will be provided with detailed knowledge about the purchasing, sales, and warehouse modules, as well as logistics-related processes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Through practical examples, participants will learn how to approach various cases.

The course covers specific activities required in the areas of purchasing, sales, warehousing, and assembly of items. Participants will also learn how to use order promising to determine realistic delivery dates. Additionally, replenishment management, logistics processes, inventory, and other areas listed below, such as budgeting and analyzing purchases and sales, will be discussed.

In this course, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is presented from a user’s perspective. The modules in this practice-oriented course include functions contained in the standard version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

The course covers the following topics:

• Utilizing the assembly module for simple assembly processes
• Using the order promising feature to provide customers with a realistic delivery date for their orders
• Using delivery reminders to remind suppliers of overdue deliveries
• Using the requisition worksheet to suggest items for replenishment
• Using the reservation worksheet to allocate inventory to demands
• Setting up and using item tracking features such as serial number tracking, lot number tracking, warranty dates, and expiration dates
• Executing basic logistics processes such as receipts, put-away, picking, and shipments
• Creating Intrastat reports
• Creating prepayment invoices
• Performing physical inventory with inventory journals or inventory documents
• Budgeting for sales and purchases
• Analyzing purchases and sales using the analysis view, analysis reports, or dimension-based analyses

Course Participants

This course is aimed at individuals who want to learn the basic functions of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central SCM and acquire a solid understanding of commonly used operations so that they can effectively utilize the software’s capabilities.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – SCM (Part 2: Advanced) is tailored for sales and purchasing employees, as well as others responsible for the setup and management of SCM functions.

Prerequisites

A mandatory prerequisite is that participants have completed the following basic courses

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – Essentials
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – Financial Management (Part 1: Essentials)
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central – SCM (Part 1: Essentials)

or that they have equivalent knowledge in Dynamics NAV (Navision) / Business Central. Additionally, accounting knowledge is absolutely essentials.

Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Financial Management for processing financial data would be helpful.
